Play a Song, Sing a Song; Courses 1-3
Beginning piano for children 5-8
Service Description
A joyful beginning at the piano A song your child already loves can become the first song they play on the piano. Play a Song, Sing a Song invites young beginners to make that discovery through singing, listening, rhythm and hands-on exploration—with a parent or teacher beside them. Created by piano educator Camille Escudero, this three-course series begins with familiar melodies and an easy-to-follow code that connects finger numbers and letter names to the piano keys. Children learn to sing a song, clap its rhythm and bring it to life on the keyboard. They can begin making music while gradually building the skills needed to understand written notation. Across the courses, children explore 24 songs alongside playful exercises for keyboard familiarity, coordination and musical expression. Each course builds on the last, introducing new ideas in rhythm, pitch, technique and music theory. Encouraging practice guidance helps families work patiently, celebrate progress and make music part of everyday life. Parents do not need previous piano experience to begin. Step-by-step explanations support learning together, turning practice into a shared time of discovery. At its heart, Play a Song, Sing a Song is about helping children experience the pleasure of making music themselves—and giving them a foundation on which their musical journey can grow.
